As the clock struck midnight on New Year's Eve.

The song starts playing “Should old acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind?” Most of us are set out to have a fresh start, to undo the wrongs done in the past, promise ourselves to live our life to the fullest with no regrets.

Who would have thought that the world would have been struck with a global pandemic then? Looking back at the two decades, its heartbreaking to see that all millennial's and GenZers have got to see the most catastrophic events of the world right from a very young age.

From the world trade Center attacks of 9/11 in 2001 to the Tsunami Disaster in the Indian ocean in 2004 wiping of almost half a million people's lives. Diseases like SARS, Ebola, Swine Flu affected humans and wildlife in 2011 -2013. Mother nature too was turned to ashes during the wildfires in the dense amazon forest to loss of wildlife in Australian bush fires in 2019.

The world economy wasn’t spared either. The great recession in 2008 caused by the deregulation of the financial industry or the famous with the withdrawal of Britain from the European Union in 2016 along with the Demonetization of Indian Rupee.

For our social media bloggers and influencers or even us common people, our lives have turned 180!

From what was once supposed to be our bucket list #vacaymode and #vacationgoals life moved into #lockdown.

From attending fancy parties to late-night events and #partyforlife we have learned the art of #socialdistancing.

Foodies experiencing extraordinary gastronomical #finedining delights to watching youtube videos and sharing the joy of #homecooking

Fitteness freaks showing of their workout videos in #gym to walking around the house in the name of #homefitness

From making plans with family and friends for #fridaynight to sitting on the couch everyday of the week #workfromhome

Having weekend #movienights at fancy theaters to laptop, speakers, and #netfilix to chill with.

From taking things and people for granted to learning the value of everyone and everything.

No one would have ever imagined life would have changed so drastically in a blink of an eye. We imagined the world to end in 2012 ( thanks to the Mayan civilizations calendar). Mother nature never really harms us unless we decide to mess up with it. I suppose its not world war 3, but man-made pandemic like COVID-19 that’s gonna take a toll on humanity.

There is surely no returning to normal post COVID for sure. Hopefully, mankind will be more sensible, responsible, and live in harmony for a new world. Stay Home , Stay Safe!
